Mineeff competed in the Australian Formula Ford Championship, finishing fourth overall in round three of the 2018 series.
He qualified his Southern Star Truck Centre/CHE Racing Mygale fourth, and finished fourth in race one after running in third position for several laps.
Mineeff repeated the result in race two after a close contest with Angelo Mouzouris at the start.
He was shuffled back to seventh in race three, which was interrupted by two safety car interventions, but Mineeff still scored enough points to finish fourth for the weekend.
“Overall, it was a strong weekend, the most comfortable I’ve felt in a national Formula Ford round,” Mineeff said.
“Since the previous round at Queensland Raceway, I identified some areas of my driving that needed improvement, and I drove the car a lot more consistently this weekend.
“As always, Colin and Cameron Hill and the CHE Racing Team gave me a very strong package – the fact Wakefield Park is our main test track certainly helped, but you can’t rely totally on knowledge you gain from test days, because the track conditions change during a race weekend.”
Mineeff’s strong points haul has elevated him to ninth in the standings.
But more importantly he is now just 15 points behind third-placed driver Cameron Shields, in a championship where every race is worth 20 points.
“I feel like we’re now in a position where we have the speed and consistency to challenge for a good result in the championship, but there’s still a lot of hard work to do,” he said.
That hard work starts this weekend.
Mineeff will compete in the South Australian Formula Ford Championship round at the new Tailem Bend facility, in preparation for the national Formula Ford round there in August.
“We’ve decided to gain some knowledge of the Tailem Bend circuit by running at this weekend’s state round,” Mineeff said.
“Because it’s a completely new venue, any laps will be an advantage.”
