For the fourth year running, the teams at Bakers Delight Bowral and Mittagong held an Easter ‘bundraiser.’
More than 8,000 buns were baked for the event on March 17 with bakers hard at work to keep up with the demand.
From each six-pack of hot cross buns sold at the stores, $1 was put towards the hospital donation.
The final amount raised from the bundraiser was $1514.90 – almost double the amount raised from last year’s event.
Bowral and District Hospital nurse unit manager Naomi Clark said the money would be well spent.
“The money will go towards new equipment that will help with ear, nose and mouth assessment and treatment. It is much needed and will especially help with paediatrics ,” she said.
Bowral and Mittagong Bakers Delight owner Jo Harrington said she is beyond thankful for the community’s involvement in making this happen.
“I would like to thank the Highlands for helping us with this wonderful fundraising for the local community,” she said.
