The grants of up to $3000 are available to grass roots organisations to run events marking NAIDOC Week, the annual celebration of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures.
Minister for Aboriginal Affairs Sarah Mitchell said that she looked forward to seeing how communities across the state use the NAIDOC Week grants.
“I encourage local organisations in Goulburn and right across the state to apply for grant funding to host events during this NAIDOC Week that celebrate the important place Aboriginal people play in our communities,” she said.
Goulburn MP Pru Goward said NAIDOC Week was a unique opportunity for the Goulburn Electorate to come together and recognise the culture, history and achievements of our First Australians and their contributions to this country.
Grant applications opened Tuesday 6 March and close Friday 20 April 2018.
NAIDOC Week 2018 will run from July 8 to July 15.
