The blaze broke out in the Canyonleigh area on Sunday afternoon.
NSW Rural Fire Service (RFS) personnel are working to contain the blaze.
The RFS has issued an Advice level warning for residents in the area.
The Advice level means that a fire has started, but there is no immediate danger.
Fire fighters will be battling against hot conditions and strong winds on Sunday.
The temperature has reached about 33 degrees in the Canyonleigh area, according to Weatherzone.
Wind gusts of up to 48km/h have been recorded in the area.
As of 2.30pm, the NSW RFS reported there were 27 fires burning across NSW on Sunday.
Seventeen of these blazes remained uncontained.
