They performed Colin Brumby’s ‘Overture in Folk Style,’ Engelbert’s Humperdinck’s ‘Prelude to Hansel and Gretel,’ and John Carmichael’s ‘Concerto for Trumpet and Orchestra.’
The orchestra was formed in 2014 as a result of overwhelming interest in establishing a symphony orchestra in the region.
The orchestra has become a significant feature of the cultural life of the Highlands.
Concert series two, ‘A Night in Vienna,’ will be held on Saturday, June 30 at 7.30pm and Sunday, July 1 at 2.30pm.
New players are welcome. Call Allan Stiles on 0415 309 760 if you are interested.
