Music buzzed through the main streets on Saturday, as the competition kicked off with the Buskers Trail.
Buskers collected votes from passers-by in a bid to win the people’s choice award and $2000.
On Sunday the battle unfolded where emcee Lindsay McDougall called the shots through to 3pm.
First prize went to Wolf Gordon, who performed an original song called Old River for the crowd.
The musician said he was surprised to take out the top award.
“I’m really shocked, I’m not sure how to react. I didn’t expect to win anything. I was just happy to play,” he said.
“This event is a credit to the Moss Vale Chamber of Commerce. It’s such a great competition.”
Second prize went to Ricky Prohm, and third prize went to Wilfrie Wilkins who was the youngest of the buskers.
The people’s choice award, which was decided during the Buskers Trail on Saturday, went to Grace Newton.
Other competitors in the Buskers Trail included Phillip Bolliger, Jaryd Hofman, Maddy White, Nellie K, Ralph Graham, Pat Newton and Polar Opposites.
Crowd favourites the Brass Hoppers made a guest appearance and took their own brand of dynamic street music to the crowd on Sunday.
Organiser Tara Hopton said although the weather was extremely hot, it was a successful weekend full of “really good talent.”
“It’s been a great turn out,” she said.
With support from Highlands businesses, the competition came with $7000 worth of prizes for the Buskers Trail. To find out more about the 2018 winner Wolf Gordon, search for ‘Wolf Gordon Music’ on Facebook.
