The Busker’s Town Trail will kick off on Saturday, March 17 as the 12 finalists get Moss Vale buzzing.
Join the Buskers Trail, winding down the main street and into Kirkham and Clarence Streets.
The buskers will play to win based on a number of votes for the people’s choice award, with a prize of $2000.
Performing in the trail will be Grace Newton, Ricky Prohm, Phillip Bolliger, Wilfie Wilkins, Valeians, Jaryd Hofman, Maddy White, Nellie K, Ralph Graham, Pat Newton, and Polar Opposites.
On Sunday, March 18, the battle will unfold.
The battle will kick off at 10.45am with emcee Lindsay McDougall calling the tunes through to 3pm.
Crowd favourites, the Brass Hoppers, will be back at lunchtime to take their own brand of dynamic street music to the crowd.
Food, beer, wine and cider will be available at the entertainment extravaganza in Leighton Gardens.
Moss Vale and Rural Chambers of Commerce president Brigid Kennedy said it would be a fantastic weekend of free entertainment.
“It’s about bringing the community together and showing off the incredible offerings from our local businesses,” she said.
“Expect to savour locally produced gourmet food with wine, beer and cider products from the region as we showcase some incredible and diverse talent.”
With support from Highlands businesses, the Buskers Battle competition comes with a prize pool.
“We thank local business for their incredible support for the battle again this year, especially Moss Vale McDonalds as our gold sponsor for the third year in a row,” Ms Kennedy said.
First prize is $3000 cash, while second prize is $1500.
Third prize will be rewarded an overnight accommodation, breakfast and high tea for two at Pepper’s Manor House in Sutton Forest.
The top three buskers will perform for what is expected to be an impressive crowd.
20-year-old Alex McIntyre from Bowral won the 2017 Buskers Battle.
She impressed the judges with her acoustic sound and self-written songs.
Alex said she put the money towards her music, recording time and some new guitar pedals.
The $2000 People’s Choice Award was won by Mittagong brother/sister duo Ryan and Rosslyn Cuerden.
