In an exciting game the lead fluctuated before Bottlenose could claim victory.
They began well, setting up a two nil lead at the end of the first quarter. Mighty Mariners came back to take the second quarter 2-1, to trail 3 -2 at halftime. Mighty Mariners took the third quarter 3-1, to lead 5-4 going into the last quarter. Bottlenose rallied drawing level, before scoring the winning goal in the last minute of the match to take the win. Pacific Dolphins 11 had a comfortable win over Oxley Gold four.
Oxley Gold held the Dolphins to two all in the first quarter and 5-3 at halftime. Dolphins stepped up the pressure in the second half.
The second half was 6-1 to to Dolphins. Horton's Heroes 17, couldn't miss a shot, as they dispatched a valiant Oxley Blue three.
They scored eight in the first half and nine in the second half. Oxley Blue never gave up and just couldn't convert many of their chances. The three goals they did score were from good team work. In A grade Mariners seven had a narrow win over Dolphins six. This was a preview of the grand final and a similar result to what has been recorded all season in terms of the closeness of the result but the wins have been with Dolphins previously. Sharks and Polar Bears played a 5-5 draw.
