The Wollongong Wolves Football Club, Belconnen United Football Club, The Illawarra Stingrays Football Club and the Highlands Soccer Association will be combining to put on a weekend of free football action.
Something for everyone across both Saturday and Sunday.
There will be free football clinics at David Wood Playing Fields in Bowral from 1pm to 4.30pm on Saturday.
Boys and girls of all ages are welcome to join in with the clinic.
Players and coaches from the Wolves, Belconnen United, Stingrays and Highlands Soccer Association, will host a series of coaching clinics with activities, drills, training and playing sessions.
Meanwhile there will be several games, all with free entry, at David Wood Playing Fields on Sunday.
The schedule is as follows:
- 11pm – Wollongong Wolves v Belconnen United – Under 18s
- 11pm – Wollongong Wolves v Belconnen United – Under 20s
- 1pm - Illawarra Stingrays v Belconnen United – Women’s seniors
- 3pm - Wollongong Wolves v Belconnen United – Men’s seniors
“It’s good for the association, it’s good for football and it’s good for the Highlands,” HSA competitions and systems chairman and director Danny Josipovic said.
Highlands Soccer Association competitions and systems chairman and director Danny Josipovic said the festival was a positive step towards the 2018 season.
“It’s good for the association, it’s good for football and it’s good for the Highlands,” Josipovic said.
“We’re expecting a large spectator base for the games.”
The Highlands Football Association have put together this year’s Festival of Football to give the football-loving public right across the Wingecarribee a full weekend of football fun.
Boys and girls, young and old, football fans and sports lovers are all invited to what will be a fantastic promotion.
The festival will highlight the unity, inclusion, fun, laughter, passion and competition that football can provide.
The Highlands Soccer Association continues to produce quality footballers and promote the growth and participation of the game.
