Work will take place between Bowral and Merrigang Streets on Old South Road.
Initial works will involve an upgrade and replacement of the existing storm water drainage culvert, installation of kerb and guttering and drainage to improve water flow within the area.
Further elements of the project will include road rehabilitation, widening and asphalt sealing.
Intersection Improvement works will take place at Old South Road and Bowral Street where one Cabbage Gum (Eucalyptus amplifolia) tree will be removed for safety purposes.
The Cabbage Gum will be replaced with a large native tree and 10 tube stock plantings.
During work Old South Road will be reduced to one lane of traffic.
Drivers are encouraged to be aware of changed traffic conditions, exercise care when traveling through the work zones and be aware of loose stones and heavy machinery within the work areas.
Works are expected to be complete by late June 2018, however all timeframes are subject to weather conditions.
