Miriam Margolyes, best known for her role as Professor Sprout in Harry Potter, will hit the show for the first time next month.
Robertson Show past president and long-standing committee member Rosemary Turner said organisers were very excited to have Ms Margolyes at the show.
“We are very much looking forward to the seeing her and we jumped at the opportunity to have her involved,” she said.
In a Facebook post, Ms Margolyes said “Just wanted to say I am going to be at the Robertson Show on Friday March 2 (maybe Sat 3 too) to meet kids, sign autographs, do selfies and talk about Harry Potter for local charities.”
Ms Turner said the finer details of Ms Margolyes’ visit were still being fine-tuned.
“All the young ones know her as Professor Sprout and the older ones from various other things so it will be a good experience for everyone,” she said.
“We are still in the early stages of planning but we are very excited about it.”
In her Facebook post Ms Margolyes also voiced her support for equality in prize money for the men’s and women’s potato race.
A veteran of stage and screen, Ms Margolyes first discovered picturesque Robertson when she lent her voice to the character of Fly the border collie sheepdog in the movie Babe.
The 135th annual Robertson Show will take place on March 2 and 3.
The annual agricultural show is renowned for its old school country charm with plenty of entertainment, competitions and events for all the family to get involved with.
