Stefan and Alesha Elbourne fell in love under the spell of Shakespeare’s Puck and the iconic Tulip Time Festival 17 years ago.
In October 2001 the pair were cast as the young lovers Hermia and Lysander in a local production of Shakespeare's A Midsummer Nights Dream.
The show was performed in Corbett Gardens at Tulip Time and by the end of the play run, love was starting to bloom.
“During the pre-production we became friends and when the show closed cheeky Puck had put a spell on us too,” Alesha said.
But this wasn’t the first time Alesha and Stefan had met. The pair studied at Bowral High together but were not high school sweethearts.
After Puck’s love potion did the trick, Stefan and Alesha married on the beach in 2010.
“We were married on October 10, 2010 and I wore a teal dress,” Alesha said.
The pair couldn’t be better matched, and have been in Bathurst studying Theatre and their Honours at Charles Sturt University.
The couple have just moved back to the Highlands where they first fell in love.
