Goulburn MP Pru Goward announed on Tuesday, February 13 that the electorate would be the location for the NSW Government’s first Community Cabinet in 2018.
Community Cabinet involves each of the NSW Government’s Ministers visiting towns and meeting the communities in the Goulburn electorate over the week, culminating in a Community Morning Tea and Cabinet meeting.
“I am delighted to welcome the Premier, Deputy Premier and Ministers of the NSW Cabinet to visit and experience the region,” Ms Goward said.
“While NSW Ministers regularly come to our Goulburn electorate, they are usually relatively small get-togethers.
Ms Goward said she was eager for locals to have the opportunity to speak to Ministers in person next month.
“Community Cabinet is a wonderful opportunity because the focus of the week will be Ministers meeting with many different community members and organisations from Goulburn, Yass, Moss Vale, and the villages of the electorate.
“Ministers will have the opportunity to meet with staff in their respective government agencies. We will also be ensuring that time will be made to inspect state projects that are progressing - or proposed - in the electorate.
“I will be showing the Premier and Cabinet what recent funding is achieving, but also flagging potential future projects and discussing government policies that will benefit the residents of the Goulburn electorate.
“It’s going to be a very busy visit for many Ministers. This government has already invested record funds in the Goulburn electorate, particularly in the areas of health, schools, sports facilities and emergency services,” Ms Goward said.
Community Cabinet will be held in the last week of February.
