The Yerrinbool Walking Group meets every Monday from 8am and Thursday’s from 6pm at the Yerrinbool Railway Station. The group heads off on an hour-long walk each day and new members are always welcome. Details: Cecilia on 0438 660 559.

Botanic working bee
The Southern Highlands Botanic Garden holds working bees on the first Tuesday of each month from 9am to 11 am, with the next one scheduled for February 6. This will be held at the gardens on the corner of Old South and Kangaloon Roads, Bowral. Everyone is welcome to join in and help spruce up the garden in preparation for the Plant Fair in April. If possible please bring your own gardening gloves and handy tools. Morning tea will be available.
Mittagong Seniors' Club
Mittagong Seniors’ Club meets each Tuesday and Thursday from 9am to 2.30pm. This gathering is held in the Community Centre in Queen Street, Mittagong, next to the Mittagong Library.
New members are welcome. Come for morning tea at 10am to learn all about the group. The group offers a variety of activities including craft, games, ukulele and various outings.
Italiani reunion
An Amici Italiani reunion will be at Burrawang Hotel on February 8. The reunion is open to anyone who was a member of the Amici Italiani Group at any time since its formation in the Highlands in 1998.
The group, recently stopped meeting on a monthly basis, however, it was once very popular with Highlanders with an interest in all things Italian. RSVPs are needed by February 1 for booking purposes.Details Dawn Wilson on 4885 1297.
CWA crafts
The Bowral CWA branch craft group will hold the first meeting of 2018 February 6. Members would like to extend an invitation to join the friendly group. If you are new to the Highlands this is a good way of meeting people.
Activities are run from 10am until midday at the CWA rooms 40 Wingecarribee Street (adjacent to Corbett Gardens). Details: 4868 2216 or 0417 682 165.
Bowral CWA meeting
CWA Bowral Branch will hold its first meeting of 2018 on February 14 at 1.30 pm. If you have recently moved to the Highlands come and join us for a friendly afternoon where tea will be served following the meeting. There will be a guest speaker on the topic ‘The Free Mason’s Clothes Line Project.’ New members and guests are welcome. Sunday at Centennial
The next fundraising event for Can Assist will be Sunday at Centennial to be held on February 11 from midday. It will begin with welome Drinks followed by a three course set menu lunch at 1pm and tea or coffee afterwards. Entertainment will be by Johnny Spitz and guest speaker on the day will be Dr Riton Das MBBS FRACP FRCPA - Haematologist. Fundraising activities will include a raffle and charity auction.
