The club’s junior players took to the pitch at Stephens Park, along with their mothers and fathers for a social game of cricket.
The Bowral Coops went up against the Bowral Puttos in a close game, which was captained by Charlie Cooper and James Putland.
Bowral Cricket Club coach Jodi Cooper said the game was an opportunity for parents and children to catch up before the season resumed in February.
“It’s a quick, friendly game between the parents and the under 12s,” Cooper said.
“It’s to give the kids the opportunity to train before the season starts.”
The result was a draw, with the Bowral Coops and the Bowral Puttos reaching 9/103.
Former Australian rugby union player David Campese was among on the parents on the field with his son Jason.
Campese recently returned to Australia to live in the Southern Highlands after seven years in Durban, South Africa.
The former Wallabies wing looks forward to being involved in local sport and helping his children achieve their goals.
The Highlands District Cricket primary competition will resume on Saturday, February 3.
