Our charity fight night in December showcased the talents of Southern Highlands boxers Nick O'Brien, Derek Lam and Neil Crowe.
The event was well-received and showcased our venue’s ability to host this type of event.
We had about 250 people come through the door to watch 14 exciting fights.
We were also excited to secure a $16,000 grant from the Veolia trust late last year.
The money has allowed us to purchase a tumble track for our gymnastics classes and more equipment for our growing boxing program.
I’d like to offer my thanks the Veolia trust. We were so grateful to secure this grant, as it has had a big impact on our club.
We’re also in the final week of our school holiday program.
We recently decided to extend the program by a week, and as a result activities will be running until Friday, January 26.
Our team wanted to give all of the working parents in the Highlands an alternative to childcare.
At $30 a day it’s significantly cheaper, and we try to keep the cost as low as possible.
In this week’s program children can participate in outdoor sports such as soccer and football as well as our little ninjas class, arts and crafts, AFL, cricket, oz-tag and archery.
And the fun won’t stop when our school holiday program ends. Check out the PCYC Southern Highlands Facebook page to see the full school term timetable.
