Bunnings stores across the country will fire up the barbecue for their annual Emergency Services Volunteers barbecue.
This tasty offering will be held on January 20 at Bunnings Mittagong Warehouse.
Residents are encouraged to head to the Bunnings store located in Braemar between 9am and 4pm on that day to buy a snag (or two) or make a donation.
All funds raised will go directly to Alpine/Aylmerton Rural Fire Service.
NSW RFS Commissioner Shane Fitzsimmons said he was always excited for this time of year to roll around.
He said it was great to see the community come together to help support the emergency services.
"We can’t thank our members enough for their commitment to protecting the community,” he said.
“I urge everyone to be prepared for fires.
“Start by making a bush fire survival plan and discuss with your family what you will do if a fire started nearby.
“You can prepare your home with a few simple steps like cleaning gutters and ensuring hoses reach all around your property.
“Know your risk, where to get information and what you will do if fire threatens, especially if travelling this summer and holiday period."
Bunnings Mittagong Warehouse complex manager, Darryl Dallas, said this was a terrific way for team members and all Australians to show their appreciation for these everyday heroes and the important work they carried out on a day to day basis.
“The team is looking forward to manning the barbecue and doing their bit to help raise funds and awareness at such a critical time of year for NSW RFS,” Mr Dallas said.
