Letter to the editor
On Christmas Day, of all days, we find that vandals have attacked the signs in Venable Park, where Cherry Tree Walk crosses Merrigang Street.
1. One sign broken off its base.
2. Another sign lifted out of the ground, after the pole has been bent - presumably in attempts to break it off.
3. The stone monument that carries the dedication has been pushed over and left in the path.
It’s disgraceful that this occurs within a few blocks of Bong Bong Street, and of the police station.
I hope that the perpetrators can be identified and made to restore the damage, and to do public community service as compensation.
