Especially after his double century in the Ashes clincher against England.
Remember when the whole town was “talking about the Jones boy?”
Smith, Steve, is on the lips of anyone wanting to capitalise on this brilliant batsman’s skills.
Skills that are seemingly unlimited.
Smith, common by name rare by talent is becoming an extremely affluent young man.
He could put this name on a jam jar and you couldn’t buy one for love or money.
But Brad Fittler….really!
It has been reported that Fittler will seek Smith’s availability to speak to his NSW State of Origin side prior to the first game of the series.
A means of motivation?
Surely any player worthy of State or Origin recognition doesn’t need motivating.
If he does then he shouldn’t be there in the first place.
Smith is a Rugby League fan but asking him to give the Blues a pep talk smacks of a cheap publicity stunt.
Brad, you can coach.
You are the coach.
Don’t fall for the same trap as your predecessor by allowing every Tom, Dick and Steve have their two bob’s worth.
None of which motivated anybody.
Least of all the players.
