It’s a twin thing.
►Bowral House residents were paid a visit by some very cute Christmas elves on Tuesday.
Mums and bubs from across the Highlands visit the residents once a fortnight, but this visit had a special Christmas twist.
The babies were dressed in festive gear that included hats, elf shoes and stripey tights. More here.
►The infamous cane toad of Queensland has become something of a cautionary tale for environmentalists the country over.
While New South Welshmen live in fear of the toad hopping over the border, Invasive Species Council CEO Andrew Cox said this is unlikely.
However, another toad – identified in the council’s ‘dirty dozen’– a list of 12 of the most invasive and potentially destructive plants and animals to have evaded environmental border controls – could potentially find home in our backyards.
►In a first for the Highlands and the globe, Berrima bricky Sheree Canham will travel to the United States in January to compete in the world’s best bricklaying competition.
The only woman ever to do so, Ms Canham will be up against 23 other contestants at the 2018 Spec Mix Bricklayer 500 World Championship in Las Vegas.
►New rural crime prevention teams will benefit the Southern Highlands.
Announced today, the teams will work across northern, southern and central NSW.
The Southern Highlands will be covered by the new arrangement as part of the Southern region.
The Hume Local Area Command already has a rural crime investigator (RCI) based at Goulburn.
►The Mittagong first grade cricket team did a late player and friend proud on the weekend.
Mittagong had a win over Robertson Burrawang at Bradman Oval on Saturday.
Meanwhile Mittagong’s third grade side also had a win against Bowral at Welby Oval. More here.
►The last round of water polo before the Christmas break saw some good games played. In B grade Horton's Heroes continued on their winning way with an emphatic 9-1 win over Pacific, who have been performing well lately.

TRAINS: Commuters can expect a normal service on the Southern Highlands line today.
WEATHER: A patchy fog early this morning, then sunny, light winds becoming W/NW 15 to 20 km/h in the morning then turning N/NE 20 to 30 km/h in the late morningand a daytime maximum temperature of 32 can be expected in the Highlands today.
