The Bombers placed just ahead of Red Sox Thunder on the Lee Richardson Cup ladder at Jurd Park in Colo Vale.
After a shaky first innings which saw the Thunder jump to a six run lead, our boys gradually started to find their stride through big outfield drives from Paul Cameron and Guy Farrugia.
The fielding then picked up a gear with two double plays completed (but only one of which was spotted by the umpires!), catcher and assistant coach Richard Tomlin the focus of both.
As with previous games, the early jump by the opposition couldn't be overhauled by the Bombers, a big last innings from the Thunder sealing the deal.
With a bye next week, the boys have bid farewell to 2017 and also to ace pitcher Ben O'Rourke who played his last game with SSBC before leaving Sydney.
