Mums and bubs from across the Highlands visit the residents once a fortnight, but this visit had a special Christmas twist.
The babies were dressed in festive gear that included hats, elf shoes and stripey tights.
Each visit, residents ask the mums questions about the babies, watch them play, read to them and sit them on their laps.
Bowral House recreation coordinator Diane Stellar said it had been a very successful experience for the residents.
“They all really enjoy the visits and we have about 20 or so residents that come and join in,” she said.
“What’s great about this is that some residents who don’t come to other activities always come to this one.”
The visits stimulate memories of motherhood and in some people it inspires them to talk when they usually don’t say much.
The residents also gave the babies Christmas presents to celebrate the festive season.
The group visits were arranged earlier this year by Highlands mum Kelly Karlson, who said while the program was intended to make the elderly residents smile, it’s also had a strong familial aspect for the babies and their mums.
