There were 51 entries on the day, with 38 competitors racing in at least one of seven heats.
Categories included junior rookie (under 16), 2WD junior stock (under 16), 2WD stock, 2WD modified, 4WD stock, 4WD stock and trucks.
Participants travelled from across the Highlands, as well as Canberra and Campbelltown.
Southern Highlands Off Road R/C Car Club president Scott Hogan said the club had grown in numbers.
“Our first official meet was in March, and the numbers have grown steadily,” Hogan said. “It’s a family-friendly competition. We have two races for juniors. You usually one see one [at other car clubs] - that’s something we’re proud of.”
Hogan encouraged those who were interested in off road R/C car racing to come along to one of the club’s meets.
“Come down and have a look. Whether you have a good car or a not-so-great car, it’s all about getting out there,” he said.
The next race meets will be held at Yerinbool Oval on January 28, 2018 and February 18, 2018.
