The school was the unfortunate victim of flooding earlier this year which has damaged the library built by Bowral High students in the past. Our goal is to raise $20,000 to fund repairs and ensure the library is not swept away by any future monsoon. This is the goal of a group of students consisting of Interact, the school SRC and prefecture, and any others willing and able to help.
The barbecue was hosted in Corbett Plaza in Bowral, with the assistance of the Rotary Club of Bowral/Mittagong, who supplied the barbecue and provided support. Aside from sausage sizzles, members baked fresh treats. We raised $1000 towards our goal, and were very pleased with this result. This brings our running total to over $8000 towards the final goal after half a year.
Interact would like to thank all those who generously gave up their weekend time, many over both days, to assist with the running of the stall. Interact would also like to thank Simon’s Gourmet Butchery (Springetts Arcade) and Bakers Delight (Springetts Arcade) for their generous support of our event.
Another barbecue will be held in similar fashion on the weekend of December 9-10 at Corbett Plaza. As well as snags, there will be more information available on the project and the club.
Hope to see you there!
