Serena Williams and Alexis Ohanian's elaborate wedding weekend at the Contemporary Art Museum in New Orleans included aBeauty and the Beast theme, customised carousel and an A-lister roster of guest including Beyonce, Kim Kardashian and Eva Longoria. So it's no surprise that they've kept the lavish celebrations going, with the pair jetting off to the private Bahamas island of Kamalame Cay. Believe us, it's what dreams are made of.
With their two-month old daughter Alexis Olympia in tow, tennis champion Williams posted on Instagram that she shared a week with the Reddit co-founder at a secluded villa on the 96-acre property. The Carribean spot is located near the world's third largest barrier reef in Andros.
According to Page Six the family owned resort has 27 luxurious seaside suites and nine luxury villas, with villas reportedly going for $35,000 (A$46,070) a week. With the island only within reach via seaplane, private ferry or helicopter, the transport there would cost an extra $2000 (A$2,633) each way. The pair reportedly stayed in the Magnolia four-bedroom villa located around 100 metres away from the beachside as guests of booking.com. Though there was a pool and spa that the pair may have opted for as well.
The 1,200-square-foot room has 20-foot ceilings and French doors that lead to the 1,500-square-foot wraparound beachfront terrace. A personal chef and butler are also on hand 24-hours a day, which would be great news for the couple who are foodies according to People.
Williams posted a video online of drone footage captured by Ohanian, "A week in paradise. Thanks @bookingcom for helping us find the perfect honeymoon villa." According to the publication a source also said that the 36-year-old, who is set to announce if she will return to the Australian Open next year in the next week, spent time "at the oceanside tennis court where Serena practiced."
34-year-old Ohanian also couldn't help but give fans a glimpse into their paradise villa, posting a candid image that Williams took of him.
The villas are not exclusive to celebrities, but you'd better start saving up if you want the same kind of treatment.
