It was an improved effort by the Oxley Blue team to hold the Horton's Heroes to 10, while scoring two goals themselves.
Horton's Heroes are showing week in and week out that they have too much firepower for the other B grade teams.
Bottlenose continued their good form, with a 5-3 win over The Mighty Mariners.
The game was hanging in the balance well into the final quarter. A few good saves by the Bottlenose goal keeper, that were converted into scores in counter attack, were the difference on the night.
Pacific 4 edged out Oxley Gold 4-3 in a very exciting game. Neither team wanted to give an inch and the scores reflected tight defence and dogged attack. In a very determined last quarter, Pacific managed to put their noses in front and then hold on for the win.
In A grade Dolphins had a narrow high scoring win over Sharks 11-9. This was a very entertaining game, with the scores locked at 4-4 at halftime.
Dolphins broke away in the third quarter with a three goal difference.
In the final quarter Sharks came back with determined attack, to narrow the margin to one goal. Dolphins stepped up the pace to take the margin back out to 2 and hold on for the win.
Mariners 8 accounted for Polar Bears 3. It was a good effort from the Polar Bears as they played a player down for the entire match.
The score was only 2-1 at the end of the first quarter in favour of Mariners.
As the match progressed Mariners were able to press home their extra man advantage.
They continued to score two goals a quarter. The Polar Bears were aided by strong goal keeping and never gave up. Their new player is a welcome addition and they would welcome a few more like her.
