Jonquil Temple’s open garden fundraiser. Saturday, November 25 10am to 12pm. Quill Cottage, 16 Applegate Close, Mittagong.
The community is invited to explore this open garden to raise money for Father Riley's Youth Off the Streets.There will be a cake stall, plant stall and market stall with gifts for Christmas, as well as a raffle. Jonquil will also give a short talk. Entry is $5 and includes a cuppa.
Mauger’s Meats Paddock to Plate tour. Saturday, November 25 10am. Laurel View, 5110 Illawarra Highway, Robertson.
The local butcher provides tours of their historic family farm to educate consumers and visitors to the Highlands about how they produce their grass-fed meat.
The tours usually last three hours and include a look around the farm, morning tea, presentations, and a meat tasting followed by a boning demonstration at the Burrawang butcher shop. Guides will explain the history of the Maugers family in the district, their production methods, including breed choice, handling techniques, ageing processes, and how to produce tender flavoursome meat.
A Girl, Her Car and Her Guitar fundraiser. Saturday, November 25, 1pm to 5pm. Briars Country Lodge & Historic Inn, 653 Moss Vale Road, Burradoo.
Support Mel Yeats in her pledge to raise money for charities Love Your Sister (cancer research) and Beyond Blue (anxiety and depression awareness). The Briars will be hosting a picnic day on the lawn, with wine, nibbles, a barbecue and tunes from Mel and her guitar. Bring your picnic blankets and your cash to support an important cause.
The Child in Us: Thorough Bass music performance. Saturday, November 25 2pm. The Rose Room, 51F Sunninghill Ave, Burradoo.
A concert featuring music all about children. Composer Ann Carr-Boyd and keyboard performer and jazz musician John D’Arcy will be performing alongside Diana Weston on piano and harpsichord. Ann will be taking a seat at the piano to play duets she has recently written and John will present two duets he has composed for his daughter. Tickets are $25-30 available online or via 0411375821.
Open mic and woodfired pizza evening. Sunday, November 26 6pm. Artemis Wines, 46 Sir Charles Moses Lane, off the Old Hume Hwy, Mittagong.
