The former Bowral High student picked up a guitar at 16 and taught himself to play after two months of lessons.

Over the years his passion to succeed in the music industry has only grown, and he is soon set to release his first EP. 

To help him fund the professional recording of the six-song EP, Mitchell has started a crowdfunding campaign. 

“I’ve got over 30 per cent of the total goal in just seven days which is really pleasing,” he said.

“I've never been this focused. Over the past year I’ve been really dedicated and I’m ready for my moment.” 

Mitchell, who described his sound as “pop-acoustic” has had some huge career moments already this year. 

He recently helped 2016 Australia’s Got Talent winner Fletcher Pilon write a new song which will hopefully make his upcoming album. 

“We were working alongside a Sony music producer and he ended up keeping me for topline writing (writing melodies and lyrics) which was a really great feeling,” Mitchell said.  

Mitchell’s music also gained huge exposure after he released a fun song about KFC and their finger-lickin’ good chicken. 

“In three days I had over 10000 views. That was pretty exciting and overwhelming,” he said. 

His music, which is available through Spotify has almost 10,000 streams and his Facebook videos have had more than 500,000 views. 

But Mitchell’s goal isn’t just to achieve his music dreams, he also has a strong focus on helping people. 

In April he released a single titled 4am (this is how love ends) to raise money for Beyondblue. 

“I plan to have a launch party for my new EP and the proceeds of the tickets will go to a charity,” he said. 

Mitchell said he hoped his music would show the strong talent in the Southern Highlands. 

“Ultimately my goal is to try to make the Highlands proud and show there is more potential here than what the world gets to see,” he said. 

Mitchell’s EP will be released in January 2018.
