Led by assistant coach Richard Tomlin for the first time, things initially looked promising with some big outfield hits from the Campbelltown Cubs being safely caught, and Kurt Farrugia taking a tricky catch at 1st base.
The Bombers’ bats, however, weren't working well and with a number of fielding errors creeping in, the rest of the game became a slow grind. Honourable mentions to Matt Hibbert who made his debut at catcher and then later pitched, Tony Maher (yet again!) with great fielding, and Chris Manny again coming up with a solid hit right when it was needed.
Over 35s Bombers: 16-0 L
The division two Vipers won on forfeit against the Campbelltown Ghosts and so did not play on Saturday.
