►Hundreds of Highlanders attended remembrance ceremonies held across the region on Saturday morning, November 11 to mark 99 years since the end of World War I.
A special ceremony was held at the Mittagong RSL, where ex-service men and women, the loved ones of those lost to the violence of war, and other members of the community came together to pause and remember. More here.

►Vinnies Mittagong has a new look and has officially been blessed.
The Vinnies Mittagong Shop re-opened on Monday, October 23 after a 10-week closure for refurbishment.
The new shop has undergone an impressive makeover, with an easy-to-navigate layout, fresh new look, and a great range of new and pre-loved clothing, household items, furniture, bric-a-brac and lots more.
►Australian journalist and author Peter FitzSimons will be presenting his latest non-fiction book, ‘Burke and Wills: The triumph and tragedy of Australia’s most famous explorers’ at the Centennial Vineyards Supper Club.
►The final Highland Fling went out with a bang.
The event was held in Bundanoon on Sunday, November 12.
About 1200 riders took part in the ride, which varied in distance with 23 kilometre, 55 kilometre, 110 kilometre and 160 kilometre routes.
►From the 1880s Chinese market gardens flourished at Mittagong and Bowral.
Stories have been provided in previous articles of this series about the early local Chinese, mostly drawn from newspapers.
