The Iris Country Fair is set to be held on Saturday, November 18.
Only held once every five years, this year’s fair will feature food, rides, boutique and vintage wares, plants and music.
There will be a flea market, a trash n’ treasure trove, more than 70 market stalls, a garden section, a second-hand equestrian stall, camel and pony rides and a giant slide.
Event organiser Michele Scamps said this year’s fair is “a recycling and upcycling powerhouse” because most of what is being sold has been crafted from donated or rescued materials.
“The goods in the vintage and trash and treasure sections have all been donated. All the handmade craft has been made from donated materials, including fabric, ribbons, beads, and timber,” she said.
“Plants, jars for the jams and condiments, shopping bags have all been collected and donated and so much reusing has gone on. It’s quite amazing.”
The Men’s Shed Bowral have also been working hard to contribute to the fair, having crafted most of the fair games for the younger children.
The Iris Country Fair will be held at Frensham in Mittagong on Saturday, November 18, from 9am to 4pm.
