Students had been learning how to write letters in class when a parent came across a competition at Officeworks Mittagong.
Teachers decided it was the perfect way for the class to wrap up their unit, so they each entered their best work in the competition.
Some students wrote to family members wishing them happy birthdays, some wrote to their mums, pleading with them to buy them new motorbikes and some wrote to their favourite characters, like Winnie the Pooh and Thomas the Tank Engine.
Officeworks staff were so impressed with all the letters that each student in the class was announced as a joint-winner.
Officeworks’ Judy and Brendan visited the school on October 16 and awarded the class with their prizes.
Judy said each of the entries “were so wonderful we couldn’t pick one winner.”
Moss Vale’s entries were selected due to their hand-written nature, and Judy said “it was great to see such beautifully written letters that weren’t typed up on the computer.”
Students thanked Officeworks Mittagong for their prizes and for visiting the school.
