The Berrima District Sports Awards Senior winner for August, Jed Schofield, is used to switching hockey uniforms as this hockey season he played for Robertson in the 1st grade Illawarra competition and for Burrawang in the Shoalhaven comp.
In August, he switched to the NSW uniform as a representative of the NSW Country team playing at the Australian Championships in Townsville.
Jed injured his hand in the first game and missed a few games but, after being assured it wasn’t broken, played the remainder of the tournament.
As a result of his amazing performance in these few games, Jed was announced in the Australian Country Hockey team so will switch to the green and gold uniform for a tour of Singapore and Malaysia in April 2018.
He will keep up his own fitness regime over the summer and, when his hand is out of a cast, he will resume his skills.
Yes, when he returned to the Southern Highlands, his own GP confirmed that his hand was in fact broken which makes his selection even more incredible.
