Nash will travel to Adelaide in December to compete in the Pacific School Games (PSG).
The PSG is a sporting event for students that is just like the Commonwealth Games for adults.
About 4000 athletes will compete in a variety of different sports over the 10 days of competition.
Nash is the only primary school student in the Wingecarribee to be selected to attend these games.
To qualify for the games, Nash had to overcome a few hurdles.
She had to be selected in the Wingecarribee, Southern Tablelands and South Coast teams to have a chance at the state team.
Nash won a NSW gold medal with the South Coast team, which she co-captained.
She was then selected for the state team.
Nash’s mother Amanda said with all of the hard work Nash put into training, the family was proud to see the young athlete achieve her goals.
“She’s so beside herself, and over the moon to be in the NSW team,” she said.
“She’s hoping the experience will lead to other NSW teams.”

Amanda said Nash’s entire family planned to cheer her on during the competition.
“We’re so excited, we’re going to go to Adelaide to watch her,” she said.
“We know that’s what she’s dreamed of.”
In the lead up to the games, Nash will undergo a rigorous training schedule.
This will include 3km runs at least three times a week and training with a focus of her overall skills and stickwork.
There will an opening and closing ceremony as well as compulsory excursion to visit the University of South Australia to have look at sporting courses and programs.
The excursion aims to encourage young athletes to continue their education while they maintain their sporting commitments. Amanda said the trip had a holistic focus for the young athletes on the PSSA team.
“She has to do a compulsory education experience,” she said. “They want to promote the idea of athletes having something educationally.” If anyone would like to sponsor Nash, email mgnash71@gmail.com.
