New data obtained by the Greens shows there more than 8500 registered guns in the Southern Highlands, which is home to about 48,000 people.

The largest collection in the local government area is owned by someone living in the 2575 postcode, coming in at the 28th highest arsenal in the state, according to the data released this week.
