Kamahl, born Kandiah Kamalesvaran, performed a series of his hit songs in his characteristic deep baritone at Abbey House on Tuesday afternoon, October 10, to an adoring crowd.
He handed out two dozen red roses to women in the crowd during his hit ‘Treat Her Like A Lady’, which he said he has been doing for decades, ever since a woman handed him a rose and kissed him on the cheek after one of his earliest performances.
