In regional NSW, petrol prices rose on average 0.4 cents per litre and 0.5 cents per litre for regular unleaded and diesel over the past seven days.
NRMA spokesperson Peter Khoury said with prices expected to rise to at least $1.40 CPL in the coming days, motorists should look to fill up now before the October long weekend.
“According to the NRMA App, the gap between the cheapest and most expensive service stations can be up to 35 cents per litre,” he said.
“With prices expected to rise in the coming days that gap could worsen – so it’s important to do your research and fill up as soon as possible,” Mr Khoury said.
The cheapest petrol in the Bowral area on Tuesday was Enhance Mittagong at 125.7 CPL.
To avoid paying too much check different apps or websites to see which bowsers have the best deal.
“If the option is available, the NRMA is urging families to fill up in Sydney before driving in NSW for the long weekend because you’re more likely to find a bargain there,” Mr Khoury said.
“However, use the NRMA App to find the cheapest towns on your route, because the price gap from town to town can be significant."
