The club hosted 60 riders for the event at Moss Vale Showground on Sunday, September 24.
Riders competed for age champion and reserve champion titles on the day.
The day was significant for members of Moss Vale Pony Club, as Throsby used to lend children horses to attend riding lessons and offered lessons herself on her farm.
Throsby was passionate about horse riding, and died with her favourite horse in her paddock.
Moss Vale Pony Club’s Vanessa Walker said members embraced the sentiment of the day.
“Del Throsby’s memory was the spirit of the day, there were lots of wonderful stories to share,” Walker said.
“We were lucky to have Del’s sisters Jill Chauncy and Noni Gove there to share memories of Del.”
Walker said the day was enjoyed by riders, family and friends of the club.
“We had lots of feedback from the riders that the day was enjoyable,” she said.
“We had a lot of support with volunteers, supporters and sponsors.”
The club has given young riders the opportunity to learn safety around a horse, learn about horse care and management, take on new challenges in a safe environment as well as make like-minded friends.
