The Southern Highlands Spring Auto Fair is upon us.
The third annual one day event is set to be held on Sunday, September 24.
It raises much-needed funds for the Southern Highlands Cancer Centre.
Organiser Darren Freer said this year they are expecting between 150-160 cars from throughout the Highlands, as well as Canberra and Sydney.
“We see everything from veterans – the earliest we had last year was one from 1909 – through to new cars, like hot rods, vintage cars, motorcycles and this year we’ll have some race cars too,” he said.
This year will also feature a special display of vintage children’s ride-on toys.
In the past two years, the fair has raised more than $35,000 for the cancer fund.
Organised by members of the Highland Cruisers Hot Rod and Custom Club, it will run alongside the Berrima Schoolyard Markets at the public school.
There will also be a barbecue provided by the Moss Vale Rotary Club.
Vehicle entry is $10 and spectator entry is a gold coin donation.
The first 150 entrants will receive a “goodie bag” with gifts and information.
All of the funds raised on the day will help the Cancer Centre provide up-to-date equipment, palliative care services, education programs and a wig library as well as aid local clinical trials.
The auto fair will be held from 9am to 2pm at Berrima Public School.
