Year 12 students will have exclusive after-hours access to Bowral Library to prepare for their HSC exams.
Wingecarribee Public Libraries will host their sixth annual HSC Night Shift study lock-in on Tuesday 26 September at Bowral Library to help students prepare for their exams.
Students will have access to the library from 6.30pm until the lock-in concludes at 10pm.
Council’s Children’s and Youth Librarian Trudy Eccleston said the popular event offered an opportunity for students to mix up their study routine and take advantage of library staff expertise.
“Libraries are a perfect environment for study,” she said. “Some students find that they need some time out from studying at home whereas others find the group study environment helps them to focus.”
Students can come with a group of friends or individually. The library will have free internet access, refreshments and staff on hand to help locate study resources.
Pizzas will be supplied at a cost of $5 per head for those requiring a late night pick-me-up.
“Feedback from previous sessions has been overwhelmingly positive with participants telling us that the evening provides a quiet and relaxed study environment where they can bounce ideas off fellow students,” Ms Eccleston said.
Wingecarribee Public Libraries host a number of regular study events for students including seminars hosted by teaching professionals. The libraries are also home to dedicated student resources and a section devoted to young people can be found at www.library.wsc.nsw.gov.au.
Limited places are available for this free event and bookings are essential. Visit www.hsclockinbowral.eventbrite.com.au to confirm your place.
