Competition among teams is closer than ever as the Highlands Soccer Association approaches its grand finals.
Highlands Soccer Association’s Bill Smillie invited all sports fans in the Highlands to watch the games on September 16.
“It’s a great day out, and an opportunity to watch some great games,” Smillie said.
There will be an action-packed day of women’s premier league.
Smillie said the competition has been close in the women’s division.
Crookwell, Robertson Maroon and Moss Vale Red was consistently at the top of the ladder since round 14, separated by two to three points.
In the all age women’s first grade, Crookwell will clash with Hill Top at 12.45pm. “Crookwell have a good goal scorer,” Smillie said. “If Hill Top is able to contain her, they’ve got a good chance.”
In the second grade women’s division, Moss Vale White will play Bowral at 10.45am.
The men’s premier league will feature some close games, with few points separating many of the teams during the season.
In the men’s first grade division, Yerinbool and Moss Vale will have a top-of-the-table clash at 2pm.
Smillie said it was anyone’s game in the first grade division. “Moss Vale is a mixture of young players plus some older players. Yerinbool is a seasoned team,” Smillie said.
“Yerinbool will come out of the blocks hard. If Moss Vale can withstand it, they’ll have a chance.
“Yerinbool have years of grand finals experience. Moss Vale has certainly had experience in the grand finals in the last few years.”
In the all age men’s second grade, Bowral and Yerinbool will play for a win at 1pm.
In the all age men’s third grade, Moss Vale will test their skills against Bundanoon at 11am.
In the under 13s division, Bundanoon will take on Hill Top at 8am.
In the youth grade division, Chevalier College will go head to head with Bundanoon at 9am.
In the under 15s division, Moss Vale Red will go up against Bundanoon at 9.15am. All of the games will be held at David Wood Playing Fields.
