►The Highlands 57th Tulip Time festival has begun.
The event was officially opened on Tuesday morning, September 12, with a free sausage sizzle from the Bowral Lions Club and speeches from Steve Rosa, Mayor Ken Halstead, and Red Kite ambassador Susanne Latimore.
Red Kite, a support service for children and young people with cancer, is the festival’s official charity partner this year.
►Police are appealing for information after a break and enter at Moss Vale on Sunday night.
Two businesses in Moss Vale were broken into just after 11.30pm on Sunday, September 10.
The male offender was captured on CCTV footage and police from The Hume Local Area Command are seeking assistance from members of the public in identifying the person.

Rebecca Robins is 40-years-old and has lived in the Highlands all her life.
When she was 19 she went into renal failure and after complications, was forced to undergo dialysis.
As there was no renal unit at Bowral and District Hospital, Rebecca’s mum and dad drove her to and from Liverpool Hospital at least three times a week. More here.
►Highlanders have been encouraged to strap their helmets on and jump of their bikes for the eighth annual BBT Family Fun Ride.
The 9km ride along the Bong Bong Shared Pathway will begin at 10am from the southern end of Railway Road in Burradoo (past Oxley College) on September 24.
Council’s Road Safety Officer, Melanie Lausz said the free event was a fun way to encourage people to learn more about safe cycling and its benefits.

The Mittagong Lions will take on the Camden Rams in the group six reserve grade grand final at Campbelltown Stadium.
