Clarke also happens to have Autism Spectrum Disorder, and has turned the challenges he has faced into an inclusive business for people living with disabilities.
Clarke’s mother Ange said the launch was a milestone in Clarke’s short life. “He started this as a way to build his skills. We now have 120 cricket bats,” she said.
Through his start-up Willo Industries, he has transformed recycled cricket bats into one-of-a-kind works of art with collaborators from across Australia.
Australian painter Charles Blackman and singer John Williamson has contributed to the collection. Clarke has exhibited his cricket bats in the International Cricket Hall of Fame.
Clarke will launch his business in a train carriage refurbished by the Clarke family at the Kazcare grounds from 5.30pm to 8pm on Friday, September 15. Refreshments will be available on the night and all cricket bats will be on display.
