During their journey, they joined with community and church choirs from Ashburton, Timaru, Invercargill and Dunedin to present a series of concerts.
Each concert featured an Australian piece chosen by Serendipity and a New Zealand piece selected by the host choir.
Choir member Janet King said the tour was a huge success for the group.
“It was a wonderful musical and social experience to work with different conductors and their choirs,” she said.
“Many new friends were made among the hospitable kiwis and the Southern Highlands was placed firmly on the south island’s musical map. We hope to host a reciprocal visit in the future.”
But the choir are not slowing down.
They have a workshop planned for mid-September in Kangaroo Valley, and are currently in the throws of rehearsing for their December concert series, which will mark their 10th anniversary.
