UOW Lecture
A presentation for people on the autism spectrum transitioning from high school to university UOW will be held at UOW Southern Highlands, Kirkham Street, Moss Vale from 6pm to 7pm on September 11.The lecture is free and open to the public. CWA cafe
CWA Bowral Branch will open a cafe during Tulip Time from September 12 – 24. Devonshire tea, sandwiches, slices, tea and coffee will be available. Jams and pickles, handicraft and bric-a-brac plus a few surprises will also be on sale. Opening hours will be 9.15am – 3.30pm. The CWA rooms are located adjacent to Corbett Gardens.
Biggest barbecue
A Biggest Barbecue will be held for Frontier Services in the grounds of Mittagong Uniting Church on September 19. This will be held from Midday for a 12.30pm start. All are welcome. Details: Shonagh Moore on 4871 1369.
Rose Society meeting
The Southern Highlands Rose Society will hold its next meeting on September 16 at 1pm for a 1.30pm start. This will be held at the CWA rooms in Winifred West Park, Old Hume Highway, Mittagong. The guest speaker will be Lawrence Zammit, education officer of the Rose Society of NSW. He will speak on hazards associated with gardening. New Members are welcome. Details: Ray on 0416 191 905.
Bushwalk
Southern Highland Bushwalkers Inc will stay local for their next adventure. They will head to Beasley’s Lookout, Mittagong on September 17. This will involve a mix of walking including fire trails and bush tracks with a small river crossing, wattle groves and short sections of easy rock scrambling to Beasley’s Lookout with some short ascents and descents. Nordic pole walking
Parkinson’s Nordic pole walking is held every Saturday from 9am at Bowral Swimming Pool car park. The walk goes to Bradman Museum coffee Shop for a cuppa and a chat before returning to the pool car park. Poles are available. Details: Stuart on 4871 2836.
