Creative Space, a joint initiative between disability support provider Ability Links and charity Your Angel, launches this Thursday, August 24.
Housed by Kazcare, Creative Space is an accessible and inclusive three-day-a-week art class offering adult community members of all abilities the opportunity to develop their artistic skill set.
This week’s launch offers a variety of free art workshops, including landscape painting, Japanese book making and jewellery making. There will also be a light lunch provided and live music from Allan Rooney and Maria Dunn.
On display at the launch will be the artwork of those who entered the Creative Space art competition, which offered two $500 prizes – one for a logo design for the space and one for an artwork that told a story about inclusion.
Creative Space drop-in classes will run on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 10am to 4pm.
They will commence in September and include painting, sketching, pottery, sculpture and some TAFE NSW accredited training courses.
This Thursday’s launch will run from 11:30am to 3:30pm in room 8 at Kazcare.
