Pensioner rebate
Councillors Peter Nelson and Duncan Gair will seek support to write to the Premier about the Pensioner Rebate. There was no increase in funding in the 2017/18 budget and the councillors want council to request the state government consider increasing the rebate in the 2018/19 budget.

Horderns Road DA
Councillors will vote on a development application (DA) to relocate four villas on Horderns Road, Bowral. The application was made as a section 96 modification. The matter was deferred at the August 9 meeting. Council staff have recommended the DA be approved, subject to conditions.
Model Aero Club
A reduction of the Southern Highlands Model Aero Club will be debated at the August 23 meeting. Councillor Graham McLaughlin will move to reduce the club’s annual fees from $390 to $1 based on the fact the club maintains the grounds.
Roads petition
A petition to improve safety at the intersection of the Illawarra Highway and Sheepwash road will be discussed at the August 23 meeting. Goulburn MP Pru Goward has started a petition to upgrade the intersection to present to Minister for Roads, Maritime and Freight Melinda Pavey. In his Mayoral Minute, councillor Ken Halstead will ask council to support the petition.
Leighton Gardens lease
A report will be presented to council seeking approval to enter into a new 10 year lease with Australian Rail Track Corporation Limited for the continued use of Leighton Gardens in Moss Vale for the purpose of public recreation and amenity.
Expense policy
Councillors are expected to adopt their expenses policy at the August 23 meeting. No submissions on the draft payment of expenses and facilities policy were received. An internal review has suggested an amendment to the policy that authorisation of payment or reimbursement of legal expenses for a councillor be subject to approval by council through a report to open council.
