Bundanoon claimed a 54-18 win over Oran Park/Gregory Hills at Robertson Showground on Saturday, August 19.
Bundanoon coach Chris Conquest said while he was satisfied with the team’s performance, there was room for improvement.
“The attack was okay, but the defence was poor, especially before half-time,” Conquest said.
Bundanoon’s Anthony Phelps, Isaac Martin and Tim Martin kept the team motivated, with a score of 28-12 to the Highlanders.
The players stood out on the field for their consistency and strong defence.
Bundanoon currently sits in first place on the Southern Highlands shield competition ladder, while Oran Park/Gregory Hills sits in second place. Five points currently separate the two teams.
The teams will go head to head again in a semi-finals match at 12.15pm at Mittagong Sports Ground on Saturday, September 2.
Conquest said Bundanoon was ready to continue its winning streak.
“We’ll be confident [going into the game]. I think we deserve to be in the minor premiership finals,” Conquest said. “If we can just play to our strengths, defend well and hang onto the ball, we should be good.”
