If so, yes this is a disaster for Bowral.
Those trees are a signature attraction in Bowral and removing them would remove the soul of the town. More information is needed.
Why not add exit and entrance ramps for Bowral and Moss Vale to the Hume Motorway so drivers can use that as a bypass?

‘A light bulb moment’
After an absence of some time, I found the mood of the latest council meeting congenial. Differing opinions were respected, progress towards conclusion was positive and good humour found a place at the horseshoe table.
Better still, I came away from the meeting with a positive feeling, a light bulb moment if you like,or not, when I learned that, "The Highland Fling Bicycle Race" was being conducted to raise funds for "Save The Children Australia "
What a good idea it would be if all cyclists in the shire donated the cycling devices to another worthy cause!
Special consideration should be given by those who think they are roadway royalty, by those who disregard traffic lights and pedestrian crossings, by those who cut corners across traffic at intersections, by those who antagonise shoppers on retail footpaths, by those who frighten walkers on shared pathways, by those who use the width of the carriageway to deny motorists the opportunity of providing a metre clearance and by those who haven't the sense to wear a bash hat.
How good would it be to have a "race to fling the highland bicycles" into a waiting container, to be shipped to the needy in an impoverished country. That would be a win-win solution, would it not? Or not?
