►The Mittagong Lions will be back in the den for several season-defining games this weekend.
The club will have not one, but two redeeming games for the under 18s and first grade teams on Sunday, August 20.
There will also be a reserve grade game on Sunday, as well as some junior games on Saturday, August 19.
► Tayla Adcock has had a successful season in the NPL.
The 19-year-old Southern Branch FC member played in the NPL two NSW women’s competition this year.
The team played against Bankstown City, which has ranked third on the ladder.
►Experienced medical writer Tina Allen launched her first book, a biography entitled Bill Gibson: pioneering bionic ear surgeon, at the Bookshop Bowral in March 2017.
Following on from that launch, Tina will be guest speaker at the Berrima District Historical and Family History Society’s meeting on August 24 at 2:00pm. Tina will provide more detail on how her book came about and on Professor Gibson’s family history. More here.
►Dedication to her craft has paid off for 19-year-old Tahlia Nonnenmacher.
The talented hairdresser heads to Barcelona in October for an international hair show. After routinely impressing her boss, Jen Auon, owner of B-Tempted salon in Mittagong, Tahlia was chosen to accompany Jen on an overseas trip to enhance her skill set.
►Road widening and traffic lights at key locations in the Highlands have been earmarked for Black Spot Funding.
